Jackie Chan's Son Jaycee Admits He Deserves To Be Punished; 'Rush Hour' Actor Flies To Beijing For Trial

Jackie Chan's son Jaycee admitted his fault and that he deserved to be punished over the drug bust, as the "Rush Hour" actor jetted off to Beijing for trial.

"I violated the law. I deserve to be punished. When I return to society, I won't do it again," Jaycee Chan told the court, the footage of which was aired on China Central Television.

Jackie Chan's son, Jaycee, was formally charged after he was arrested in Beijing last year for testing positive for marijuana. In a raid, police also found around 100 grams of weed in his home.

His father, the international movie star, has been on damage control after the bust. "Rush Hour" actor Jackie Chan said that that he was ashamed over what his son has done, but pleaded for understanding.

"I hope that in the future, he could become an anti-drug spokesman and tell his experiences to young people," Jackie Chan told state news agency Xinhua on Wednesday.

At the time of his son's arrest, Jackie Chan posted a statement on his website published on Us Weekly.

"First of all, I'd like to thank everyone for your care and concerns. The recent news about my son, Jaycee, is very shocking and the impact it has caused on society is heartbreaking. When I first heard the news, I was absolutely enraged," Jackie Chan's statement said.

"As a public figure, I feel very ashamed; as his dad, I'm very sad and disappointed. But the person who feels heartbroken the most is his mom. I hope our younger generation will learn from Jaycee's mistake and stay far away from drug abuse."

"I should also take some of this responsibility because as his dad, I didn't teach him WELL. Therefore, on behalf of Jaycee and myself, I extend our deepest apologies to everyone for the negative impact this has caused on society. Thank you," the "Rush Hour" actor wrote.

On Friday, Jackie Chan's son was sentenced to six months in prison after his guilty plea, MailOnline reported.
