Idris Elba Takes On New Role Of Developer, Marc Olden's Thriller Trilogy 'Poe Must Die' To Be Put On The Big Screen [PHOTO]

The news is out - Idris Elba will be developing Marc Olden's historical thriller trilogy "Poe Must Die" through Green Door Productions Co as a possible movie trilogy. According to Empire Online, Elba will be trying his best to start many telltale hearts fluttering with a storyline that has Poe fighting demonic forces as well as his own personal demons.

The plot is as follows: "The scene is set with a depressed and frail Poe at the bottom of a bottle in 1840s New York. Recently arrived is English martial artist Pierce James Figg, who's been sent to find Poe by none other than Charles Dickens...

Poe and Figg then join forces on the trail of the sorcerer who murdered Figg's wife and is himself searching for the Throne of Solomon, which he believes will give him immortality and power over all the demons of hell." Sounds like it could be problematic for the entire world!

So far, no names have been attached to actors in the writing, so it is likely that the trilogy is a long ways off. However, Elba will be on the big screen in a big way in the near future.

The Verge reports that Elba is producing and starring in Jim O'Hanlon's drama "A Hundred Streets" along with Gemma Arterton, Samantha Banks, Ken Stott, Charlie Creed-Miles, Tom Cullen and Steve Mackintosh. He will also be seen in Marvel-Disney's "The Avengers: Age of Ultron," and is voicing Shere Khan in Disney's "The Jungle Book."

What do you think of Elba's upcoming development? Would you watch it?
