Stephen Fry and Elliott Spencer are married! The 57-year-old comedian and the 27-year-old writer tied the knot just two weeks after the news of their engagement. BBC reports that the pair is thought to have started their relationship last year.

In the past, Fry has kept his love life largely private. It is thought that he separated from a long-term partner five years ago. According to the Daily Mail, he recently wrote his third autobiography, "More Fool Me," which follows on from his two previous autobiographies released in 1997 and 2010.

Fry has suffered multiple bouts of depression, and has recently become more outspoken about his past troubles. In his autobiography, he admitted for the first time that he was in a hotel room abroad when he tried to kill himself in 2012. He also revealed that he spent 'an enormous' amount of time and money on cocaine.

He stated, "The only point of writing an autobiography, or so at least it seems to me, is to be honest. And in this book I have been utterly candid about a period of my life in which I spent an enormous amount of time and money on cocaine powder."

He continued, "I know how stupid that is, but I also know better people than me have found themselves on the same path."

It seems that Fry's relationship with Spencer has brightened him up considerably. When Fry first announced their engagement on Twitter, he wrote cheerfully, "Oh. It looks as though a certain cat is out of a certain bag. I'm very very happy of course but had hoped for a private wedding. Fat chance!"

On the day of their wedding, he posted, "Gosh. @ElliottGSpencer and I go into a room as two people, sign a book and leave as one. Amazing." The details of the ceremony were largely kept quiet.

Friends of the pair were quick to send their congratulations. Hugh Laurie posted, "Bloody hell it's happened! @ElliottGSpencer has made an honest man of m'col. Love and happiness to all!!" Nigella Lawson added, "Congratulations on your joyous union."
