Mariah Carey, Nick Cannon Faces Another Issue After Divorce News; Former Couple Sued By Kids' Nanny

Even if they are in the middle of their divorce, Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon are facing another issue when their kids' former nanny filed a lawsuit against the couple.

The documents were filed by Simonette DaCosta at the Manhattan federal court where she alleged that she worked for Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon, who are undergoing divorce at the moment, in October 2013.

According to the suit, reported NY Daily News the complainant "attended to their needs not only at home, but also during Ms. Carey's travels for her global concerts and appearances."

Her lawyer, Eli Freedberg, claimed that Simonette DaCosta "was on call 24 hours a day. She was always at their beck and call."

While Mariah Carey's kids' former nanny was paid handsomely, between $6,000 to $7,200, a month, for her services, Simonette DaCost alleged that she wasn't paid overtime.

The lawsuit added: "Plaintiff was on duty during all hours of each 24 hour day with no entitlement for breaks, for meals, and even for sleep. Indeed, Ms. Carey would often call plaintiff at hours in the middle of the night and demand to be taken to her children or to be updated on the status of her children."

But the nanny of Mariah Carey's kids was fired in January last year because of the bizarre reason of "expressing too much affection for their children."

"She was caring for the children too well. (Carey) was worried they were getting confused who the mommy was," the lawyer said.

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon are in the middle of divorce proceedings. It was earlier reported that they already agreed on a settlement but this could not be confirmed. The "America's Got Talent" host, meanwhile, has been linked with Amber Rose, Wiz Khalifa's ex, who signed on to the DJ's talent managing agency.
