John Mayer and Katy Perry back together rumors might have some truth after all. The two were previously seen having dinner in Los Angeles earlier this year and they were again spotted together at a Super Bowl XLIX after party.

The "Love Song for No One" crooner made sure to support Perry's halftime show performance, which garnered more than 110 million viewers. Missy Elliot, who joined the "Roar" singer for an exceptional three-song medley, even had her photo taken with the on-again couple.

An insider of US Weekly reveals that the 37-year-old acoustic heartthrob waited backstage while Katy Perry performed. John Mayer reportedly congratulated the "California Girls" songstress following her performance.

John Mayer and Katy Perry parted ways for the third time in February 2014 because of his alleged infidelity. Recent rumors suggest that the "Your Body is a Wonderland" singer promised Russell Brand's ex-wife that he already changed.

"As soon as John called Katy, she went running back to him. He swears he's a different man now and feels ready to commit. He always loved Katy, but was afraid to take the next step. Now he's even been talking marriage and children," claimed one source to Now magazine.

However, per the source from Now magazine as reported by Belfast Telegraph, Katy Perry's circle is allegedly not in favor of her reconciling with John Mayer as "everybody told her not to take him back because she's going to get hurt again but she's not listening. He promises he's changed, but that promise will be broken."

Her blossoming romance isn't the only reason why Katy Perry's on cloud nine. To commemorate her successful Super Bowl performance, the "Roar" songstress got herself a tattoo with the Roman numerals, "XLIX."
