Gina Rodriguez chucked off her bra for the cover of Latina magazine as the "Jane the Virgin" star revealed in the accompanying interview that he decision to venture into acting scared her parents no end.

In the cover, the 30-year-old actress showed a lot of cleavage as she covered her breasts with a black and white blazer.

Gina Rodriguez's parents have such old-fashioned values and wanted her either to become a doctor or lawyer.

"Education was definitely number one, and that's why acting scared my parents. They were like, 'What are you going to do with that? How are you going to make money?'"

One thing that also made her acting dreams more complicated was the fact that her two older sisters have carved a good career for themselves in much more stable jobs.

"I have two older sisters: One's an investment banker and the other is a doctor," she said. "We all did good until I came around, and they were like, 'Actor? No you're trying to be a lawyer.' And I was like, 'I'm not trying to be anything with law, but I'll be one on TV."'

The "Jane the Virgin" star recounted that growing up as a Puerto Rican in a Chicago hood was very difficult, and their family was always wanting for money.

"We didn't grow up with money, so they always instilled that education was going to get you to where you needed to be and it definitely did," she said.

Talking about her neighborhood, "Jane the Virgin" star Gina Rodriguez said, "The whole area starts with a big ol' Puerto Rican flag and ends with a big ol' Puerto Rican flag."

She earlier told In Style that she feels really grateful and blessed just for being nominated.

"I've been working at these dreams for years, and I have had high moments and quieter moments in my life. Enjoy it, appreciate it, and be grateful throughout it all. It's not a race, it's a marathon. And of course, I have a family that keep me real grounded," Gina Rodriguez said.
