Big Sean's Respect For Girlfriend Ariana Grande Prompts Rapper To Keep Mum On Relationship; Claims New Song Not About Ex Naya Rivera

Out of respect for girlfriend Ariana Grande, Big Sean is not keen on talking about that relationship. However, he has no problem talking about the breakup with "Glee" star Naya Rivera.

Big Sean received criticisms after he released "I Don't F-k With You" right after the split from Naya Rivera, which prompted some to think that it was about his ex.

"I had that song a year ago, when I was in that relationship, but obviously everyone thinks it's about her," the rapper told Billboard. "I want to write about what really happens, but I'm not a spiteful person. I've answered so many questions about it, people are going to think what they want no matter what I say."

Talking about girlfriend Ariana Grande, Big Sean said, "She's supercool -- the coolest.

He said that Ariana Grande claimed to be one of his biggest supporters and at one point, she even rapped his lyrics to him. They met and became friends in 2012 at the Wango Tango concert by KIIS-FM.

"Ever since, we've been friendly, hung out once in a while, and it just evolved. I respect her -- so I don't think I should talk about it."

Hollywood Life noted, however, that Big Sean was more forthcoming in an interview with Complex magazine as he revealed how much he treasures girlfriend Ariana Grande's friendship.

"[Ariana and I] started as friends. I'd never done that," he said. "Usually you meet a girl and then start dating. We always saw each other in the studio, and we'd talk about songs we were working on.

"It was cool to have a girl that I could talk to about my problems. I did that with her," the rapper added.

"It's not some fake-ass, inauthentic s*** when I say we were friends. This is something special and I appreciate every moment of it."
