"NCIS" season 12, episode 14 spoilers reveal that the show will delve into Tony DiNozzo's background which should provide fans an idea of why he's become the man that he is.

Gary Glasberg teased episode 14 spoilers for "NCIS" season 12 in an interview with TVLine that "Cadence" will give a lot of insight into the character of DiNozzo.

"I think we captured the essence of who Tony may have been when he was younger - and any time that we can give continued insight into young DiNozzo, it only informs who he is today," he said.

He said that fans will glean from Tony DiNozzo "a respect [for his mentor] that carries over into how he handles himself as an agent, with Gibbs. It bounces back and forth in time pretty nicely."

Tony is back at his old hunting grounds for a case.

"He has to figure out if there is anything from his past that could end up ultimately helping him in some way with his present," said Cartermatt. "This should be interesting to watch unfold over the course of the episode. While we cannot promise that the mystery will be great, we've always found Tony flashbacks episodes to be entertaining."

"NCIS" season 12, episode 14 spoilers can be gleaned from the synopsis which reads: "DiNozzo returns to the military academy he attended as a teen after a murdered Marine, who was an alumnus of the school, is found clutching the photo of a current student. Meanwhile, Bishop and her husband invite Gibbs and the team for a special dinner."

Episode 15 is called "Cabin Fever" and it will explore Gibbs and Fornell as they thresh out their issues amid the chaos that Sergei Mishnev is leaving in his wake.
