Ariana Grande And Nathan Sykes Split: British Crooner Admits Writing ‘Nice’ But ‘Heartbreaking’ Song For ‘Bang Bang’ Songstress

Ariana Grande and Nathan Sykes' split might have left some fans devastated but for the British crooner, something good came out of it. Following their four-month romance, the 24-year-old singer admits that he penned a song for the "Love Me Harder" songstress.

However, as opposed to other breakups that ended bitterly, the former The Wanted member said that they parted ways amicably.

"I'm one of those really annoying people for exes, like, I don't hold grudges whatsoever," Sykes told MTV News. "And I am one of the people who only takes really positive experiences from relationships and moves forward with it. So it's a really nice song even though it is quite heartbreaking."

Ariana Grande's ex-boyfriend added, "It's got a really nice message with it. It's just the song that [says] you can't be angry at any situation because sometimes things just don't work out and you've just got to roll with it and move on."

The "Almost Is Never Enough" crooner likewise said that apart from Ariana Grande, others have also inspired his new album. He hopes that fans will love his first single which will be released this year.

"There's a few different people that I write about. There's a couple of breakups that I write about and a few almost romances and what-not," he said. "And there are a couple songs that talk about being in relationships as well, so it's going to be quite funny when people start to listen to the lyrics."

Prior to Ariana Grande, Nathan Sykes dated fellow musician Dionne Bromfield. The "Bang Bang" singer, meanwhile, is now dating Big Sean.

While the members of The Wanted announced their hiatus in January 2014, Nathan Sykes said that he wouldn't stop creating music.

"I'm far too young to put on hold my music career," he told the publication. "I feel like I have a lot to give and I feel like I have a lot of music to write and a lot to prove as well."
