Many wondered about the reason behind John Mayer and Taylor Swift's breakup and while the latter's single "Dear John" hinted about infidelity, Katy Perry's current boyfriend said that he's not a womanizer.

The "XO" crooner made headlines for his previous romances with Hollywood stars including Jennifer Aniston and Jessica Simpson.

In an interview on "Today," the 37-year-old was asked if there's truth about his womanizing ways to which he responded, "No, absolutely not."

In the interview, John Mayer talked about the cycle of rumors about him.

"You're crafty and you're clever and you go, 'Well, I'm just going to be as strange as they think I am.' And then you lose, number one you're not playing music anymore," he said.

"Number two, you're not feeling anything honestly. Number three, you're not saying anything honestly."

While he denied that his womanizing ways might be the root of the infamous John Mayer and Taylor Swift breakup, the "Love Song for No One" confessed that he did battle with ego addiction.

"I'm a recovered ego addict," he told the "Today" show.

"The only way that I can be sure that I don't relapse is to admit that I constantly have this ego addiction - every day. So, I do the Grammys and I go home cause if I stayed, I'd get high again... You've already looked through Twitter, everybody goes, 'It's great,' and then you're low again because you can't stop looking. So, I'm a recovered ego addict."

John Mayer and Taylor Swift might remain indifferent towards each other but the same thing couldn't be said about the singer and Katy Perry.

The 30-year-old "Roar" songstress allegedly gave John Mayer another chance.

"Katy and John are back together," said one insider to Radar Online. "Although her friends have warned her to be careful, she is already ignoring all of the red flags. She is not listening to anyone and is going into this full force."
