Harrison Ford Plane Crash Update: Preliminary Report Issued As Son Ben Ford Released Statement

An update regarding the Harrison Ford plane crash has been making the rounds on the internet as of late.

This follows the previous report of the veteran actor's plane crashing in a public golf course roughly two weeks ago. Located in Santa Monica, California, people from the said golf course rushed to Ford's aid, quickly moving to get him out of the plane for fear of it blowing up.

As previously reported, The "Star Wars" star, was flying a vintage aeroplane. A 1942 Ryan Aeronautical ST3KR type of plane, the model of which was utilized during the World War two era, reportedly experienced engine trouble, which caused Ford to crash the plane.

ABC news also picked up on the Harrison Ford Plane crash news. They reported that the actor crashed the plane on the ground on purpose. He initially requested a turnaround upon realizing the engine problem, and before he could reach the runway back, he crashed.

The National Transportation Safety Board, has already issued a preliminary report. Principal investigator, Patrick Jones said that 72-year-old veteran actor has experienced the engine trouble shortly after taking off from the Santa Monica Municipal Airport.

According to NBC News, Ford was operating the plane under visual flight rules, meaning he was not required by the law to file a flight plan before being able to fly the plane. As to why the engine problem occured, the source wrote that it was not cited.

The actor's son also released a statement, saying his father is "battered, but OK."

The first source cited above also reported that Colonel Stephen Ganyard, who is their news consultant has claimed that Harrison tried "his best to keep the airplane flying," saying that he is a good pilot. "It looks like he did a really good job under the circumstances."
