Many were stunned when Nickelodeon cancelled "Sam & Cat" after airing just one season. Fans speculated that the cancellation might be rooted on the alleged Ariana Grande and Jennette McCurdy feud. Despite the rumors, the "iCarly" star finally decided to break her silence.

In an interview with E! News, the blond beauty highlighted her closeness with Big Sean's girlfriend.

"I just feel that, you know, Ariana and I were and are extremely close and very like-minded in a lot of different ways and then, sorta as the show dissolved, everybody wanted to find some sort of hidden meaning in our relationship."

The "iCarly" star, however, said that there were indeed times that she and the "Problem" singer "butted heads." Those times might have generated the Ariana Grande and Jennette McCurdy feud rumors.

"Some like drama and I think we butted heads at times, but in a very sisterly way. She knows me so well and I know her so well that I think it was unfortunate that things kind of got misconstrued," she told the same publication.

For Jennette McCurdy, it's only natural for co-workers to have their own "ups and downs." Despite their differences, she still consider her bond with the "Bang Bang" songstress "impenetrable."

"But you bond so much and you're so close that you can't go through that experience and... I can't imagine a world where you would not come out extreme friends. I mean, I have bonds with both Miranda Cosgrove and Ariana that are impenetrable," she told E! News.

Ariana Grande and Jennette McCurdy's feud allegedly stemmed from the network's unfair treatment specifically Big Sean's girlfriend's higher paycheck. But such claim was never proved.

When the show got cancelled, the "Love Me Harder" hit maker thanked Nickelodeon for being "accommodating and supportive" of her acting even if she juggled it with her music career.
