"Prometheus 2" and "Alien 5" will be developed about the same time but being that Ridley Scott is involved in both films, there would be no danger of contradiction and confusion.

"Alien 5" director Neill Blomkamp admitted in a recent interview that he introduced some changes into his movie to make sure that Ridley Scott can proceed with his story arc for "Prometheus 2."

"I changed the one thing [Scott] felt was bumping Prometheus a little bit. One thing that makes me feel good about it is that Ridley is producing it. He likes the idea of what I want to make," he said.

But if Neill Blomkamp had the final say, it won't be called "Alien 5."

"I sent the title I wanted to Ridley. It's kinda quite bold, but it gives away too much if I say the title. But in the event that it doesn't work, I'm dead in the water," he added.

It was already reported that "Alien 5" will effectively follow events of "Alien" and "Aliens" and will totally ignore "Alien 3" and "Alien: Resurrection."

Scified reported that Neill Blomkamp's "'Alien 5' will be different from 'Prometheus 2' though they revolve around the same Universe."

"Unlike Scott's 'Prometheus 2' which aims to get away from the 'Alien' or 'Xenomorph' creature itself and expand the franchise, Blomkamp's 'Alien 5' will likely revolve heavily around the Xenomorph and iconic characters such as Ellen Ripley," the website added.

Ridley Scott said that "Prometheus 2" will stay away from the xenomorphs.

"It's fresh and getting away from gods (engineers) and dragons (xenomorphs) and shit. If I see one more dragon, I'm going to shoot myself. Stop the dragons," he said of the villains to be expected from the "Prometheus" sequel.

"The alien's real, which is why it's probably one of the scariest monsters in film history. So with 'Prometheus 2,' what I'm trying to do is reintroduce a fresher form of alien in the third act," the director said.
