After a hustle and bustle of Hollywood, "The Mentalist" actor Simon Baker settled back into Australia's more laid back limelight when he headlined the launch of Audi Hamilton Island Race Week in North Bondi Fish last Tuesday.

"Wearing his signature tinted wayfarer specs, the father-of-three brought a touch of Hollywood cool to the VIP event," Daily Mail noted. "While the rest of the social set dressed in summery looks, Simon donned a navy coat with dark jeans and a blue and white checker shirt."

"The Mentalist" actor Simon Baker rubbed elbows at the event with the likes of Mel Doyle, Lisa Wilkinson, Sandra Sully of "Sydney's Ten Eyewitness News," chef Matt Moran, fashionista Nadia Fairfax and Magdalena Roze, the award-winning Australian meteorologist.

After the final episode of "The Mentalist," Simon Baker said he will take some time off for a while.

"I'm looking forward to enjoying the simple things socially, actually reconnecting with friends and family that I've been a little bit out of the loop with for the last seven years," he said.

"I'd love to be the assistant coach of my kid's soccer team, and actually be able to go to practice or just go camping."

Earlier, it was reported that Simon Baker has been scouting locations in Sydney.

According to Daily Telegraph, Simon Baker just purchased an apartment in the area for $2.5 million where he and wife Rebecca Rigg, along with their three children, Stella, Claude and Harry, will be staying.

Ben Buckler is located near the famous Bondi Beach and has "become a prestige property hotspot in recent years," said the report.

Property agent Bethwyn Richards told the publication that Ben Buckler is a sought after location.

"When people come to Bondi they look down Campbell Parade and see the beach and that headland. It is magical place that is unique in Australia," she said.
