Joan Rivers' Life And Death Commemorated By Melissa Rivers; Late 'Fashion Police' Host's Only Daughter Posts Tribute In 'A Letter To My Mom' Compilation Book

Joan Rivers' life and death were commemorated by Melissa Rivers. According to a report from People, the late "Fashion Police" host's only daughter posted a tribute in a compilation book entitled "A Letter To My Mom."

"A Letter to My Mom" is a book created by Lisa Erspamer that compiled notes from both celebrities and regular people, all to feature their moms.

The 47-year-old TV personality has been grieving since Joan Rivers' death last Sept. 4. The comedy icon died following a botched throat operation at an Upper East Side clinic named Yorkville Endoscopy.

However, Melissa Rivers chose for her tribute to have a happier and lighter tone.

"Dear Mom, I received the note that you slipped under my bedroom door last night. I was very excited to read it, thinking that it would contain amazing, loving advice that you wanted to share with me," Melissa Rivers wrote.

"While I appreciate your desire to 'upgrade' your accommodations to a larger space, I cannot, in good conscience, move Cooper into the laundry room."

"I love having you live with me and am very grateful for every minute Cooper and I have with you. You are an inspiration," she shared.

The mother-of-one previously shared how staying happy has helped her cope from Joan Rivers' death.

"In our family we always believed that laughter was the best medicine," Melissa Rivers said.

"I wanted to write a book that would make my mother laugh."

While Melissa Rivers' memories of her mom seem to be all positive, a recent report from Fox News revealed how "Zoolander" actor Ben Stiller was disliked by the late comedienne.

"She had a thing about me. She didn't like me," Ben Stiller shared to radio host Howard Stern last Wednesday.

"I never had an interaction with her. I didn't understand why she didn't like me - I mean I can understand that someone doesn't like me, whatever... You're allowed to have your opinion, but she had a thing because she was friends with my parents."

"She was great and I feel bad that we never got to work that out. My parents were really friends with her and spent a lot of time and worked with her and she had an amazing career," he added.
