'Expendables 4' News Updates And Spoilers: Sylvester Stallone Not Giving Up On Franchise; Arnold Schwarzenegger Fully Behind Friend's Back

News updates on "Expendables 4" reveal it might just happen despite the third installment bombing at the box-office, as Arnold Schwarzenegger said that there's still story to be told featuring an ensemble cast of action stars.

Talking to USA Today, Arnold Schwarzenegger teased a bit of news and spoilers for "Expendables 4" as he said that it's a "terrific franchise" to just die like that.

"I told Sly to write another one or have someone else write another one," he said. "A really terrific story. Because I think it's a great idea to have an ensemble piece with that many action heroes in a movie."

"Especially if the comedy is really done well. It could be a great story. There's definitely room for another one."

The "Expendables 3" opened to a lackluster audience last year, earning just $16.2 million in first weekend. News from Variety noted that the film was hurt by leaked copy that was downloaded almost 200,000 times after it was released.

Nevertheless, Box Office Mojo reported that the third installment earned $206,172,544 worldwide, but only $39.32 million in domestic sales.

Sylvester Stallone, however, has not fully given up on "Expendables 4" just yet.

While promoting the home video release of the third installment in the franchise, Sly told Crave Online that if "Expendables 4" will happen, it needs a major overhaul.

For one, the action legend has stated that insisting on a PG-13 rating for "Expendables 3" was a mistake on their part.

"I believe it was a horrible miscalculation on everyone's part in trying to reach a wider audience, but in doing such, diminish the violence that the audience expects. I'm quite certain it won't happen again," he said.

And according to news updates for "Expendables 4" from Den of Geek, Sylvester Stallone already approached Jackie Chan to do a fourth movie.

"Sly [Stallone] wants me for Expendables 4. I said, 'Okay.' Because they already asked me to be in two and three, but I refused. Well, I didn't refuse, but I said, 'Sly, can't we just do you and me? Not just a bunch of people and me only coming out for five minutes.' Because then the audience is, 'Oh!' And then I'm gone," he said.

"So if I'm in 'Expendables 4,' I want it to be me and him - then it might be interesting. Otherwise you just come out for five minutes," Jackie Chan added.
