Brad Pitt has been seen with a very noticeable bruise below his left eye.

During his appearance at the 3rd annual Light Up the Blues concert, fans were quick to notice the bruise and has then speculated on what the cause might be is. Some say it might just have been an accident, while others say that it might be a case of domestic violence between him and his wife, actress Angelina Jolie-Pitt.

While speculations seem to be entertaining, the actor spoke with People magazine and released a statement about his bruise. "This is what happens when you try to run up steps in the dark, with your arms full, wearing flip flops," the "Fight Club" actor said. "Turns out if you then try to stop your forward momentum with your face, the result is road rash."

"Regardless, I wasn't going to miss the Autism Speaks benefit the night after - wonderful people and I was honored to be a part of this important event," the actor concluded.  

The event where he spoke in and where the audience caught a first glimpse of his bruise, is a concert aimed to help a group geared towards providing care for people with Autism. It was held at the Pantages Theatre.

Among the night's atendees were Gary Cole, Christina Applegate, Amy Brenneman and Jack Black, who hosted and auctioned off a Fender guitar that was signed by the all the performers from the Light Up the Blues concert, who all happen to have autism. The guitar was won by non other than Brad Pitt after bidding $23,000.
