"Star Trek: Into Darkness" actress Alice Eve was branded a lot of hate names over her comments meant to advance women's cause following Bruce Jenner's sex change confession.

Bruce Jenner admitted in the tell-all interview with Diane Sawyer on April 24 that for "all intents and purposes, I am a woman."

But "Star Trek: Into Darkness" actress Alice Eve disagreed.

In an Instagram post, which has since been deleted but was captured by Us Weekly magazine, she wrote, "Nope. If you were a woman no one would have heard of you because women can't compete in the decathlon. You wouldn't be a hero. You would be a frustrated young athlete who wasn't given a chance."

"Until women are paid the same as men, then playing at being a 'woman' while retaining the benefits of being a man is unfair. Do you have a vagina? Are you paid less than men? Then, my friend, you are a woman."

Her followers then jumped on Alice Eve for being a bigot for her comments over Bruce Jenner's sex change confession.

She was also branded as "transphobic," "transmisogynistic," and "disgusting."

Daily Mail noted how "Star Trek: Into Darkness" cast member Alice Eve tried to engage the social media commenters when she wrote, "I do agree that the struggle for transgenders is unique and horrific. However, I do want to also support a cause I strongly believe in, the right for women to have equal rights to men. The transgender equality struggle is the next one, as we all know. And very real it is, too."

Alice Eve later posted a photo of David Bowie back when he was still known as Ziggy Stardust as a response to the backlash over her Bruce Jenner sex change confession.

The words read, "I am a supporter of anyone who wishes to explore their gender identity. Sometimes language doesn't express the spectrum of identity sufficiently, as in this case. I am also a believer in equal rights for all... Whatever your race, color or creed."
