Tori Spelling just attended the book launch of her younger brother, Randy, in Los Angeles on Sunday. It turned out that her husband, Dean McDermott, is also releasing his own book, "The Gourmet Dad."

In an interview with OK! magazine, Dean McDermott said that cooking has brought the family closer.

"It's really amazing to be in recovery and be present as a husband and a father. It just makes all those things that you do to together more enjoyable because I am actually present and there," he said.

"So it's wonderful and it's amazing how it works hand-in-hand with cooking because it is, it is about whether you are the only one in the kitchen making the meal."

"At the end of it, you are all sitting down together having it. So it's great. And it's also to get out of my head those times when things get a little crazy and it's very therapeutic. Cooking is very therapeutic," Tori Spelling's husband explained.

Dean McDermott and Tori Spelling's marriage troubles are well documented following the cheating scandal that hounded the couple.

The cheating scandal threatened to blow up their marriage but the couple managed to hold on after undergoing therapy.

Since then, Dean McDermott seemed to have turned his life around as he claimed that he's already sober for more than a year now.

On describing his marriage to Tori Spelling, Dean McDermott said, "Amazing. Amazing. Better than ever. We're closer and stronger because we went through a lot in a very short period of time and we worked on a lot of things, the number one thing being our communication skills and things are great. We're on fire. It's awesome."

"The Gourmet Dad," according to Dean McDermott's website, is about easy to prepare but delicious meals that the whole family can enjoy.
