Gina Carano's Thriving Movie Career Breaks UFC Fans' Hearts? 'Deadpool' Actress Still Most Ideal Opponent For Ronda Rousey?

Gina Carano's movie career might be inversely proportional to her UFC career. With Henry Cavill's ex getting more film projects lately, that takes it away from her return to the Octagon to clash with champion Ronda Rousey.

Gina Carano was snapped on the set of "Deadpool" recently and she's looking quite at home in production as she was at the Octagon. Then there are her other commitments which are expected to keep her busy this year and probably until the middle of 2016, which would likely take away from her training.

"She has not fought an official UFC fight in almost six years and this is one sport in which if a fighter is not fighting regularly they cannot compete against the best fighters in the world no matter how much they train," Fan Share said. "Training and even sparring are no substitute for actually stepping into the Octagon and competing."

"Carano is set to play Angel Dust, who was depicted in the comics as a member of The Morlocks, an underground group of mutants," Stack said.

Deadpool, whose real name is Wade Wilson, is a mercenary and assassin-for-hire who has Wolverine-like powers. The character has developed a huge following because of the creators' decision to break the fourth wall and address directly the audience.

Aside from "Deadpool," she's also going to be seen on "Bus 657" opposite Robert de Niro, Dave Batista, Kate Bosworth and Jeffrey Dean Morgan, said Deadline.

The film "centers on a father (Morgan) without the means to pay for his daughter's medical treatment. As a last resort, he partners with a greedy co-worker (Batista) to rob a Casino and the two hijack a bus full of hostages and things go awry," the site said.

Gina Carano plays a policewoman trying to bring down the suspects.

Ronda Rousey had told MMA Fighting that it would be her honor to fight Gina Carano or be in her corner, depending on what the former champion wants.

"If she wants to be done, and she's done so much to change my entire life that I'm eternally grateful to her, she doesn't need to do anything else," she said. "If she wants to fight, I would be happy to oblige her if that what she wants. I never want her to be pushed into doing anything that she doesnt' want."
