Gigi Hadid and Cody Simpson have been confirmed to have broken up.

This is after People confirmed the reports of their break up. According to the site, the break up was amicable and was decided upon by both parties. A statement was also released by Gigi's party.

"Cody and Gigi want each other to be in a place right now that allows him to only focus on his music, fans, and new message, while she can focus and continue building her career," said Hadid's rep. "They love each other dearly and have split up in hopes that growing on their own paths will bring them together in the future." 

"They remain friends with no hard feelings and each other's biggest supporters," added the rep.

As known by the public, both celebrities are very busy with their respective careers. Cody, who only 18 years of age, is currently working on releasing his first album, while Gigi, who is two years older than her now ex, is busy with numerous fashion campaigns.

As previously reported, the two have been very vocal about their affection towards each other. In a previous interview with People, Cody said that distance is a challenging factor in a relationship, but is very much manageable to keep the relationship intact. 

"It's give and take - you've got to have a certain trust," the singer said. "You build something, and for us, it's been sustainable. [We're] very supportive of each other, she's stoked for me, and it's mutual." 

During the interview, Simpson also revealed that he thinks his relationship with Gigi will last.

"I definitely don't imagine it being over for good," he said, contrasting to the latest news.

As to what caused the split this time, fans are speculating that it is probably because of the fact that Gigi Hadid and Cody Simpson are very much at the prime of their own careers, thus they are getting more and more projects that cause for a busy schedule and less time together. Fans have been expressing their dismay thru their social media accounts since the news about the couple's break up have been confirmed.
