The movie, titled "Planetarium," revolves around Portman and Depp, who play sisters who can communicate and interact with spirits.

According to an article in Variety, the movie will be set in France in the 1930s, and the "spiritualist sisters" who can talk to ghosts. At some point, the sisters will meet a "visionary French producer," who is said to be inspired by legendary French film producer Bernard Natan. Natan is notorious as the producer who churned out some of the earliest erotic films, as well as his questioniable business practices during the Great Depression.

The film producer, who was Jewish, was captured by the Nazis and perished in the concentration camps in Auschwitz.

The movie will be directed by Rebecca Zlotowski, who helmed the 2013 movie, "Grand Central."

"Planetarium" marks the first time that Portman will be directed by a French auteur after her debut role in Luc Besson's "Leon: The Professional" in 1994. Reportedly, Portman is practicing her French in preparation for the role.
