Fans have speculated about the "Revenge" season 4 finale on whether Amanda got Victoria's heart, and it does sound like the perfect ending that best illustrated the twisted telenovela.

However, Emily VanCamp was quick to douse cold water on all the speculations as he set the records straight.

In a Twitter post on May 18, Josh Bowman's girlfriend wrote, "Emily did not receive Victorias heart!! The idea was that it was a recurring nightmare that would haunt her forever. #Truth #Revenge."

One fan wrote, "ohhh thank god!!! Thank you for letting us know!"

Another commented about the "Revenge" season 4 finale cliffhanger revelation from Emily VanCamp, "(Thank) you for clearing that up because it was a bit vague which one is real, which one is simply a nightmare."

"Oh thanks for clearing that up. I literally gasped and said "no way" to my TV. Lol," one of her followers added.

Showrunner Sunil Nayar told TVLine that the cliffhanger of "Revenge" season 4 finale, particularly on whether Amanda got Victoria's heart, served its purpose.

"What I'm hearing from people's reactions is that they don't know whether that's true or not. For me, I think that's great," he said. "I think that the show lives in the world of nightmares and memories, so for the psychological nature of it, it's good regardless; you realize this is going to haunt Amanda for the rest of her days."

"It's a fun question for the audience to toy with: If it did happen, what does that mean? It's a bizarrely theoretical cliffhanger, which I hope inspires conversation. I like the debate of it."

However, Madeleine Stowe, in a complete turn-around about Emily VanCamp's tweet, revealed to TVLine that in the original script for "Revenge" season 4 finale, Amanda did get Victoria's heart.

The actress explained, "When we did the table read, it absolutely happened. But they wanted to go for a little more poetry and have it be in her psyche so that you saw she was troubled by this."

"They'd never tell a transplant recipient who gave the heart unless both sides agreed to it. In the original draft, it absolutely happened."

It was already revealed earlier that "Revenge" won't be renewed for season 5.
