Johnny Depp Accused Of Smuggling Dogs To Australia? Pets Reported To Be Put Down By Government!

Johnny Depp's dogs are in danger of being put down by Australian quarantine authorities. The actor was accused of smuggiling his dogs into the country when he flew there to resume filming the next installment of the "Pirates of the Caribbean" movie.

Agriculture Minister Barnaby Joyce said that the Hollywood actor brought his two Yorkshire terriers via his private jet when he flew to Australia. The dogs, Pistol and Boo were threatened with euthanasia if Depp did not fly them out of the country by Saturday.

Australia's Agriculture Department informed Depp and his wife, Amber Heard that they had 72 hours to return their dogs back to the United States.

"If you start letting movie stars - even though they've been the sexiest man alive twice - to come into our nation [with pets], then why don't we just break laws for everybody?" Joyce said. "It's time that Pistol and Boo buggered off back to the United States."

The country enforces strict quarantine measures to avert the spread of diseases that can be carried by animals. Australian law requires that people who fly in pets to apply for a special permit, and voluntarily place their pets in quarantine for 10 days after they've arrived on Australia's shores.

The Agriculture Department found out about Depp's dogs when one of the actor's staff brought the pooches to a groomer on Saturday. The dogs were hidden inside a handbag.

"Now Mr. Depp has to either take his dogs back to California or we're going to have to euthanize them," Joyce said.

Brett Chant, a spokesoman on behalf of the Agriculture minister, informed the press that the pets were currently under "home quarantine." But Chant did not disclose the location. If the dogs were to stay beyond their deadline, Joyce said that they would have no choice but to put the dogs down.
