Tom Hardy To Be Included In The Marvel Universe? Actor Releases Statement!

Tom Hardy is rumored to be included in the Marvel Universe.

This is after the actor has been reported to have turned down the role for DC's "Suicide Squad." He was supposedly playing the role of Rick Flag, but had to cancel last minute due to schedule conflicts.

In an interview with Collider, Hardy hinted that he was interested in some particular roles under the Marvel universe.

"I want The Punisher or Splinter Cell," he said. "I want something...I don't know what I want."

"I'm not big enough to be The Punisher. I'm 5-foot-9," he added.

After his statement got published, fans took to their social media accounts to express their support in Hardy's wish. They are bringing their plea to numerous online threads with hopes of it reaching Marvel producers and actually having a spot available for Hardy.

While some fans support his wish and think that it is timely for the 37-year-old to be in the whole Marvel Universe game, some spectators think otherwise. They say that Hardy has been exposed as a DC character one too many times. Although he has only appeared as "Bane" in the DC universe, they say that the fact that he was also almost casted as Rick Flag is too much of a discrepancy and might be considered as a conflict of interest. Moreso, these fans say that should Marvel consider getting Tom for a role under their cinematic universe, it will be extremely hard to do so, as DC might be willing to put in a big fight for the actor.

In other news, it seems that te public will be seeing more of Tom Hardy as the "tough guy" roles that he has been casted in.

This is because of the actor's preference, which was recently revealed by USA Today to be leaning towards action. E! reported that in an interview conducted by the show about his recent romantic comedy film, "This Means War," the "Dark Knight" actor said that he doesn't want to do romcoms again.

"I love to do things I hadn't done before," he said. "I didn't understand how you could do something which is so fun and be so miserable doing it. I probably won't do a romantic comedy again, do you know what I mean?"
