From superhero to villain? "Batman V Superman" actor Henry Cavill will reportedly play Jack Hyde as he joins Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson in "Fifty Shades Darker," the sequel to the blockbuster adaptation of E.L. James' novels.

Based on the book, the character of Gina Carano's ex is going to be the boss of Anastasia Steele, played by Dakota Johnson.

"Jack Hyde is described as a man with sensual blues eyes that can pierce your heart," said Movie News Guide. "[For] the past few months, there have been speculations on who will play the role of Steele's boss who will eventually become more than just an editor."

Previously, "Batman V Supeman" actor Henry Cavill's name was one of those floated around as director Sam Taylor-Johnson's choice for Christian Grey, a role which eventually went to Jamie Dornan.

"While difficult to define him as a complete enemy in the books, he does have some devious plans in store for Ana as well as a dark past and some serious history with - and angst towards - the Greys," said The Examiner. "That should be reason enough to be vested in who might tackle the upcoming role, even for non book-followers."

"Fifty Shades Darker" will continue the saga between Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey after they broke up and she starts a career with the Seattle Independent Publishing House where Jack Hyde-played by Gina Carano's ex-looms as boss.

"But desire for Christian still dominates her every waking thought, and when he proposes a new arrangement, Anastasia cannot resist. They rekindle their searing sexual affair, and Anastasia learns more about the harrowing past of her damaged, driven and demanding Fifty Shades," the summary said.

However, there's no confirmation yet from the studio and "Batman V Superman" star Henry Cavill on his portrayal as Jack Hyde in "Fifty Shades of Darker."
