Melissa McCarthy showed off her dramatic 45-pound weight loss during the red carpet photocall in Berlin, Germany for her new film, "Spy: Susan Cooper Undercover."

"Melissa confidently showed off her newly-slimmed down physique, choosing billowing shapes to emphasise her shrinking shape," said Daily Mail. "She wore her hair long and loose with a glossy texture to match the finish off her straight-leg trousers and besides some elegant tan sandals, Melissa was accessories-free to keep her look simple in front of the cameras."

In an interview, Melissa McCarthy talked about the weight loss pressure for women as a result of the body shaming culture in America, particularly shopping malls which segregate plus-size women.

"People don't stop at size 12. I feel like there's a big thing missing where you can't dress to your mood above a certain number," she said. "It's an odd thing that you can't go shopping with your friends because your store is upstairs hidden by the tire section. We'll put you gals over there because we don't want to see you and you probably don't want to be seen."

Previously, Melissa McCarthy attributed her weight loss to a low-carb and high protein diet, said MSN.

Quoting Star magazine, the website said that the "Tammy" star has "been making small changes and seeing big results. It's given her a real confidence boost."

However, comedian Melissa McCarthy wasn't too keen about losing too much weight since she wants to keep her curves.

''Melissa knows that fans love her big and beautiful, and she's not obsessed with dieting. She's looking for a happy medium," the source told Star.

Early last year, in an interview with Rolling Stone as shared by Hollywood Life, Melissa McCarthy claimed that she's not buying into the whole weight loss hype. "I could eat healthier, I could drink less. I should be learning another language and working out more, but I'm just always saying, 'Ah, I could get hit by a bus tomorrow,'" she said.
