The engagement reports regarding Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill are not true, at least not yet anyway.

Rumors about the engagement swirled around when the "Anaconda" hitmaker was seen flashing a huge heart-shaped diamond ring weeks ago.

But the rapper told Fader magazine, per Daily Mirror, that even if they love each other, Meeks Mill hasn't taken his relationship with Nicki Minaj to another level.

"I ain't engaged," he said.

"It's definitely real," the "Amen" rapper said on his relationship with Nicki Minaj. "But it ain't really time to get married yet. We're still learning each other, feeling each other out."

Meek Mills also said he had to explain to his grandmother-who apparently believes whatever she sees on TV-that the rumors about his engagement to Nicki Minaj are not true.

The rapper explained how he's become smitten with his beau.

"Yeah, that's my baby right there. S**t real. Yeah, I tell her that. I'm like, 'I don't really hold hands, but like, I'll hold hands with you.' She know (sic) that," he said. "Like, I don't really do things, but certain people make you do certain little stuff and it be like, 'S**t, I don't care.'"

All that PDA might damage his street cred as a rapper, but right now Meek Mill doesn't care.

"They can catch me in the pictures doing anything nowadays, holding an umbrella for Nicki, you know what I'm saying? I got the girl that I wanted, not what they wanted, you know what I'm saying? What I wanted," he said.

Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill were first linked in December last year. But last month, Nicki Minaj dropped a bomb on her Instagram when she posted the heart-shaped diamond ring. The "Pills 'N Potion" singer didn't even bother to explain that it wasn't an engagement ring and let fans speculate about the status of their relationship.
