New York Times Releases 'Bimbimbap' Ad Featuring Actress Lee Young Ae, 'Spread of Korean Culture'

Actress Lee Young Ae has been receiving much attention for her bibimbap ad in the New York Times.

Lee Young Ae, who has become famous worldwide with her drama, "Dae Jang Geum," was chosen to become the model for the bibimbap ad in the New York Times.

She was featured in the New York Times in the A section on page 15. The full page ad revealed a picture of Lee Young Ae and the words, 'BIBIMBAP?'

They stated that they used Lee Young Ae for this ad because of her fame through her drama that has been watched in over 90 countries with over 3 billion viewers.

Although the ad was to spread Korea's national food, bibimbap, Lee Young Ae's traditional Korean clothing she is wearing is also become well known as well.

They also stated that Lee Young Ae quickly accepted in becoming the model for this ad so that she could help spread the drama and the Korean culture.

Company Chicken Maru sponsored the entire advertisement and a design company helped design the ad.

This ad, which has been playing in Times Square for 5 years, will hopefully allow bibimbap and the Korean culture to spread around the world.

Internet users commented, "I am so proud!" and "She looks wonderful in the Korean traditional dress."
