After months of speculation, Alexander Skarsgård and Alexa Chung have confirmed that they are dating through their actions when they were snapped holding hands in New York.

"The new couple took advantage of the warm New York weather and headed to the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens in Prospect Park last week to enjoy the day," said E! News. "The pair kept very close as they strolled through the gardens hand-in-hand and only stopped to take photos of each other along the way."

The rumor about the "True Blood" actor and the high-profile writer started back in February when they were spotted having breakfast at a New York cafe on Tuesday.

The photo of them apparently on a date in Bluebird coffee shop was posted by comedian Haley Sacks on her Instagram.

She wrote the caption: "I try not to post blurry pictures on Instagram BUT I am in the middle of breaking an important celebrity news story and so rules don't really apply. That is Alexa Chung! I just saw her with Alexander Skarsgard from 'True Blood.'"

She added: "They were eating avocado toast and rubbing each other's lower backs. No one knows they are dating yet except ME and now you. I just feel like I have to tell you bc Brian Williams never will. Okay signing off now. Go tell ten people or you'll have bad luck forever."

People also reported that Alexander Skarsgard and Alexa Chung were dating because they were seen together at the Bowery Ballroom in New York looking very "cozy."

The source told the magazine: "They were deep in conversation. He seemed really laid-back but she seemed super animated and into him."

Another photo published by E! News showed Alexander Skarsgard and Alexa Chung lying next to each other on the grass under a shade. The writer was "resting her head on the True Blood star's chest and curling her arms and legs around her new beau."
