Zoe Saldana's Husband Marco Perego Changes His Last Name In Favor Of The Actress; Why Did He Do It?

Zoe Saldana's husband Marco Perego is now officially called Marco Saldana, as he changed his last name to his wife's.

According to an interview with InStyle, the "Guardians of the Galaxy" actress revealed that she tried to discourage her husband from changing his last name to match hers.

"I tried to talk him out of it," the 36-year-old actress said. "I told him, 'If you use my name, you're going to be emasculated by your community of artists, by your Latin community of men, by the world.' But Marco looks up at me and says [she puts on his Italian accent], 'Ah, Zoë, I don't give a sheet."

As to why Perego did it, fans are assuming that maybe he's just doing it out of his love for Zoe. They say that it's probably because of the fact that he's so inlove with her so much that he's willing to go to great lengths to embody that.

The couple married each other last 2013 and now share two 6-month-old kids, both of which are twins. Zoe and Marco named their children Bowie and Cy.
Talking more about her family, the actress reveals that it is interesting to see a lot of blueprints coming from different races. "I come from a very physically eclectic family," Saldana said. "Black. Latin. Lebanese. We were all colors, but we never talked about it. We all ate the same food. I look at Cy, and he looks almost Cambodian. And I look at Bo and it's like, 'Oh my god, our little pharaoh.'"

As to how Zoe Saldana's husband Marco Perego, who is now known as Marco Saldana, shares his life with her along with their babies, the actress revealed that she has found peace in being with them.

"Since I've been with Marco, I've been lowering my guard," said the "Star Trek" star. "Finally, when we had our boys, I looked at my husband and I realized: I was meant for you, and you were meant for me."

"I've always felt comfortable around men as long as they were friends," she added. "Now I finally feel comfortable with my lover. I don't want to be separate. I want my church. I want to live inside the religion of our own little family."
