Emma Roberts, Evan Peters’ Split Far From Amicable? ‘Scream Queens’ Star, Fiance’s Engagement Off

Emma Roberts and Evan Peters have called off their engagement and despite the official statement that the split was amicable, the tabloids don't quite believe that story.

A source confirmed the split to Just Jared who said, "Their three years together just ran its course. They have so many great memories together but couldn't make it work in the end. The break-up was amicable - there was no drama whatsoever. Emma and Evan are even still friends!"

Emma Roberts and Evan Peters started dating in 2012 and became engaged in January 2014.

People also confirmed that Emma Roberts and Evan Peters have called off the engagement as it purportedly talked to a source who claimed, "They grew apart. They both had a lot of growing to do and it was better that they do it on their own."

But Celebrity Dirty Laundry suggested that there's a history of violence in the engagement between Emma Roberts and Evan Peters and that describing their split as amicable would be a stretch.

In 2013, the "American Horror Story" star was taken briefly into custody for domestic abuse against Evan Peters.

"According to Montreal law enforcement sources ... someone called police to report a fight in Evan and Emma's hotel room," TMZ reported. "We're told when cops arrived ... they observed Evan with a bloody nose. Emma was immediately arrested. One law enforcement source tells us Evan also had a bite mark."

This was the basis by CDL to assume that Emma Roberts and Evan Peters' decision to end the engagement was far from amicable.

"We need to stop making actions like this okay by brushing them away saying that a couple, who was clearly in an abusive relationship, broke up 'amicably,'" the article said.

"The fact is that Emma Roberts and Evan Peters were in an unhealthy relationship from the start, and the two should have never gotten engaged."
