Outgoing showrunner Stephen Nathan dished some spoilers for "Bones" season 11 after Booth and Brennan quit the Jeffersonian for a fresh start.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Stephen Nathan promised that Booth and Brennan will come back, but it might not happen right away.

"The mystery and the fun of Season 11 is how is this team going to reassemble," he said. "How is life going to go on? At what point do we pick them up?"

"There will be a time lapse. We will be picking them up as they have been living a life that they have been wanting to live. From that they'll have to go back to the lives they had before, and clearly they will be different people and different circumstances will allow us to continue in a new life," he added

In another interview with TV.com, the showrunner dished more "Bones" season 11 spoilers as he assured fans that David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel will be back for more adventures.

"The challenge is: How the hell do we get these two people back while being true to everything that made them leave?" he said. "That's what will be interesting and surprising about the top of Season 11, and that's why doing these big moves is always so interesting to us and so much fun. It forces you to see the characters in a new way. It forces you to realize that there are expectations that always fall short of reality."

He said it was never the intention to put Booth and Brennan in a new job because it would be too much work logistically.

"Would we keep Booth and Brennan and forget the other regulars? That doesn't seem like something anybody wants to do. We don't want to turn our back on our supporting cast, which is loved by us as well as the audience," he shared.
