Chris Brown Thankful For Daughter; Dedicates BET Awards To Royalty Amid Diss From Host Tracee Ellis Ross

Chris Brown is thankful for his daughter, Royalty to whom he dedicated his recognition at the recent BET Awards. The "Loyal" singer accepted the Best Male R&B Artist nod and the Fan Award amid an alleged diss from host Tracee Ellis Ross.

Hollywood Life reported how the award was dedicated by Chris Brown to his daughter.

"I ain't good with speeches," he started.

"A lot has changed in my life, a lot of mistakes, a lot of lessons learned. The best thing, I'm most thankful for is my daughter."

"At the end of the day, love is love," the R&B star said.

Aside from Chris Brown's daughter, the Grammy-winning recording artist also gave credit to his fans for supporting him amid the trials he went through.

"I love everybody: My fans, when I was in jail, 'Loyal' was number one," he said.

"Last year, I was fat on this stage, dancing, trying to get my stuff together but right now I can only say I'm so thankful and happy to have the loyal fans in Team Breezy right now, because without y'all, I can't do my music."

"Everyone that's here that know me, to know me, is to love me. If you ain't with us, so what? I love y'all," the once troubled singer said.

Aside from Chris Brown's speech for his daughter, his appearance at the BET Awards also made news after host Tracee Ellis Ross allegedly made fun of him right before his performance.

According to a report from E!Online, Tracee Ellis Ross seemed to throw shade at him and Tyga while introducing them.

"Equally a triple threat, young, sexy, and black," the 42-year-old actress said before taking a long pause to laugh and finally announce Chris Brown and Tyga's names.

However, Tracee Ellis Ross clarified via Instagram that she was only laughing because she was worried about mispronouncing Tyga's name.

"I'm not the shade throwing type," she said.
