'NCIS' Season 13 Spoilers: Agent Gibbs' Survival Sealed As Mark Harmon Signs Contract With Series

Mark Harmon already re-signed with "NCIS" season 13 and that means fans don't need spoilers to tell them that Agent Gibbs will survive the shooting in last season's finale.

The news about Mark Harmon signing on for season 13 was confirmed by TVLine in a report.

In "NCIS" season 12 finale, Gibbs and DiNozzo followed Luke to Zakho, Iraq who was with The Calling, a terrorist group targeting kids. Gibbs separated from the pack to chase a mysterious girl and was shot twice by Luke, hitting him on the leg and chest.

Showrunner Gary Glasberg teased "NCIS" season 13 spoilers to Fox News as he said the events in season 12 finale will have a larger implication on the team, and Gibbs especially.

"It changes everything that he has focused on over the years and worked towards -- trusting women and children first. Then in this instance, he doesn't know who to trust," he said.

"This is difficult for him. He wants to help this boy but at the end of the day, this young man ends up being troubled to the extent that it backfires on him."

He gave more spoilers as he told The Hollywood Reporter that "NCIS" season 13 will "pick up right on the heels" of the season 12 finale, featuring Luke and Mike.

He said, "We've got a lot of questions that need to be answered and then some impending danger that we need to deal with when we get back."

"Regardless of the outcome, any time that Gibbs or one of our family members is in danger or injured, it significantly affects everyone. We'll have to see the long-term effects and the psychological effects, but they'll undoubtedly, as they always are, be there for each other."

"Then we'll see where it takes [us] as we move forward to the coming episode," he added.

Watch out for more "NCIS" season 13 spoilers which will be published here when they come along. The series will premiere on Sept. 22 on Fox.
