Hip Hop Group AZIATIX Signs with U.S. Label Cash Money Records

Group Aziatix became a hot issue in both the U.S. and Korea for their recent signing with U.S. agency, Cash Money Records.

Aziatix consists of 3 members that are all Korean-American, Eddie Shin, Nicky Lee and Flowsik.

The members were interviewed about their thoughts on music and the potential to expand internationally.

Member Flowsick commented, "In Korea, we sound like pop music, but in the U.S. we have an Asian sound. We like that we are unique and have our own style of music."

Jae Chong, a former member of the group Solid, is the producer for the group. He stated, "Much of the American music is becoming the same. However, Aziatix brings another style of music that is fresh. This group features both vocals and rappers, making the sound more diverse and pleasing to the ears."

Eddie also added, "The internet has become the main source for marketing. Because the internet is so global, we will be able to receive comments and feedback from other countries even though we release an album in Korea. Back in 2011, we received a call from a German radio station asking if they could play our song."

Nicky Lee commented, "Even the Eagles weren't just formed just like that. They met artists by chance and made it big. It's hard to use the same thing again and again. Some markets it works and some it doesn't. In the U.S., you need to be creative. Copying or imitating is easily caught and everyone knows its true."

Nicky first met Jae Chong in L.A at the age of 17. They released 5 albums in Taiwan and gained attention in other countries as well. Flowsik was born in NY and uses rap to express his personal experiences. He believes that honesty is the main focus of rap. Eddie Shin was born in Boston and is a singer-songwriter.

Aziatix mainly consists of R&B hip-hop with a bit of dance and acoustic. They commented, "Music comes from personal experiences. This is different from always being revealed by the public or on TV screens. Those that make music through personal experiences will always be able to create music that isn't' boring or repetitive. It is because they have the creativity and seriousness that cannot be mimicked."

Aziatix will make their U.S. debut in March or April.
