The "Scandal" TV series, where Portia de Rossi was just promoted to a regular, is reportedly causing a rift between her and Ellen DeGeneres.

According to In Touch Weekly, Portia de Rossi and Ellen DeGeneres had a huge fight after arriving on a week-long vacation to South Africa.

The source alleged, "Right after they got back, they had a huge fight about Portia's career. Portia told Ellen that once she starts filming Scandal again, she'll be married to her job."

Reportedly, Ellen DeGeneres is "controlling" and "possessive" when it comes to Portia de Rossi.

"They wound up in a big screaming match and didn't speak again for days," the source added. "It doesn't look like they will ever be able to get back on track. Ellen and Portia will soon be living separate lives."

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi have been the subject of divorce rumors in the past few weeks.

But Radar Online reported that the couple is trying to renew their vows.

"Ellen wants to renew her vows with Portia in her hometown in Louisiana," a source told the website, adding that the state used to ban gay marriage prior to the Supreme Court ruling.

The Supreme Court ruled last month that gay marriages should be legal nationwide.

"Since the ruling, Ellen has gotten a ton of emails and tweets thanking her and Portia for paving the way for gay marriage to be recognized nationwide," the source added.

"She knows that getting re-married in Louisiana, which has always been a very anti-gay state, would be rubbing it in to some people but she does not care."
