One Directioners have to endure surprising headlines this week. Amid all the seemingly intriguing news happening to the boybanders, Liam Payne and Sophia Smith are reportedly engaged.

Apart from Louis Tomlinson having a baby with Briana Jungwirth, fans also became concerned when a Twitter troll threatened to kill Harry Styles which made the hashtag #HarryBeCareful trending. Even former member Zayn Malik contributed to the controversy when he had a public Twitter spat with producer Naughty Boy whom he described as a "fat joke."

Nonetheless, the week of suffering is incomparable to the joy Directioners felt when Liam Payne and Sophia Smith's engagement news surfaced. Twitter went into overdrive upon finding out that the "Steal my Girl" crooner allegedly popped the million-dollar question to his lady love.

While #SophiamIsEngaged quickly became trending, the Brit crooner's camp remains hush about the news.

However, one retweet seems to have confirmed Liam Payne and Sophia Smith's engagement. The singer himself retweeted a fan's message which read: "Zayn: slays NB Harry: death threats Louis: becomes a dad Liam: gets engaged Niall: #SophiamIsEngaged"

Speculations have risen too that the "Night Changes" hit maker might have proposed during their recent trip to Disney World. Despite Liam Payne and Sophia Smith's engagement, a wedding might not take place soon because the 1D heartthrob has a valid reason.

"My sister's just about to get married so there's not anything...I don't want it to be like a Ross and a thingy moment - no, I mean Rachel and Monica: 'you stole my thunder' - I don't wanna be the thunder guy. That would be horrible," he told Sugarscape.

Liam Payne even revealed to the website that he's writing a song for his sister's big day.

"She's actually asked me to write her wedding song, which I'm trying to do - I've got a year to write it."
