Chris Brown is stuck in the Philippines due to a his cancelled New Year's Eve show, which he allegedly backed out from last January because of his then girlfriend, Karrueche Tran. The "Loyal" singer even joked about the case in a late-night Instagram video that he posted last while still in his Manila hotel room.

According to a report from TMZ, Chris Brown was barred from leaving the Philippines a day after his one-night only concert last Tuesday.

The R&B star was reportedly slammed with a fraud lawsuit to prevent him from going out of the country. The court order stemmed from Chris Brown's failure toshow up at a huge event in the Philippines last New Year's Eve.

Event organizers claimed that the 26-year-old Grammy winner was already paid in full prior for the New Year's Eve gig that he did not show up for.

Since speculations quickly began circulating about why he was barred from leaving, Chris Brown immediately addressed the issue while still in the Philippines.

"Don't believe everything you read," he wrote via Instagram. "It's a misunderstanding between Phil Casey and the promoters."

"Hopefully this will be resolved shortly," he added. Chris Brown was slated to perform in Hong Kong just hours after he was detained in the Philippines. The show has been rescheduled.

The controversial singer even posted an Instagram video to joke about the controversy.

"Can somebody please tell me what the f*** is going on?" Chris Brown asked with a confused look on his face. His friends could be seen laughing with him in the hotel room background.

"I don't know! I'm reading headline after headline... what the f***?? That's really what the f*** I wanna know!"

Hollywood Life previously reported that Chris Brown cancelled his Philippine show last New Year due to "unforeseen circumstances."

However, insiders revealed that he did not show up to his New Year's Eve appearance because of model Karreuche Tran. He had just reconciled with his on-again-off-again girlfriend at the time of the event and allegedly wanted to spend time with her.

"No disrespect to his fans out there, but once he and Karrueche got back together over Christmas, Chris knew he wasn't going to be able to make that venue," a source said.
