Hero Grandpa Fired: Man Who Saved Boy's Life By Pulling Shark By Tail Fired After Boss Sees Viral Video Of Shark Rescue

62-year-old Paul Marshallsea and his wife were vacationing in Australia when the hero grandpa pulled a 6 feet long dusky shark by the tail using his bare hands in order to keep the large predator away from a group of children.

The video of the so-called hero grandpa was seen all over the Internet and was witnessed by Marshallsea's bosses at the Pant and Dowlais Boys and Girls Club.

Marshallsea had been working for the charity for 10-years. He and his wife, who also works for the charity, had taken a 2-month leave of absence suggested by a doctor. Marshallsea was apparently on the verge of a nervous breakdown when the doctor suggested he take a break.

The hero grandpa and his wife are from Wales and were vacationing on Australia's Sunshine coast when Marshallsea saw the huge shark getting dangerously close to the swimming children.

When Marshallsea and his wife returned home from vacation they both found letters of dismissal waiting for them. The letter read,

"Whilst unfit to work you were well enough to travel to Australia and according to recent news footage of yourself in Queensland, you allegedly grabbed a shark by the tail and narrowly missed being bitten by quickly jumping out of the way."

The Pant and Dowlais Boys and Girls Club said they lost trust in Marshallsea and his wife. The charity believes they were lied to when the couple took their Australian vacation, believing they would stay local for the 2-months.

In an interview with The Telegraph Marshallsea said, "If I hadn't gone in to save the kids on that beach that day my wife and I would still have a job. You think being in charge and running a children's charity, they would have patted me on the back and congratulated me. But to sack us both without any sort of discussions first is just disgusting."

The 62-year-old father of 3 and his wife are unsure what they will do next.

According to the nationalgeographic.com the dusky shark can grow in size up to 12-feet long and way 350-400 pounds. They are considered a danger to humans because they inhabit shallow water, but reports of dusky shark attacks are few and far between.
