Jodi Arias Murder Trial: Psychologist Says Accused Murderer Suffers From Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Video Shows Her Doing Headstand After Talking To Police [VIDEO]

The Jodi Arias murder trial took a turn in a new direction, as a psychologist said the accused murderer suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder, while a video of Arias doing a headstand after talking to detectives was viewed in the courtroom.

Following the alleged murder of her ex-boyfriend Travis Alexander, Dr. Richard Samuels told the Phoenix court that Arias can't remember many of her actions because of this disorder.

The jury will continue to hear from Dr. Samuels Monday, a psychologist hired by the defense, ABC News reported. He said that even though Arias admits she shot and repeatedly stabbed Alexander, she can't remember the crime.

Jodi Arias is on trial for the murder of her ex-boyfriend Travis Alexander on June 4, 2008. She claims to have a vague memory of what happened after Alexander was shot and stabbed 26 times.

"Memories are not formed in many people who are experiencing acute stress, because, chemically, it just doesn't work," Samuels told the court Thursday.

If found guilty, Jodi Arias could be sentenced to the death penalty.

This alleged post-traumatic stress claim is coming off of the heels of footage from the police precinct where Arias was being questioned. Her behavior after the interrogation is what has caused some commotion.

"You should have at least done your makeup, Jodi, gosh," Arias says to herself after the detective leaves the room, Fox News reported.

ABC News reported that she went through the trash, singing "Here With Me," which contains the lyrics, "It might change my memory."

Following that, she did a headstand against the wall for at least 30 seconds, FOX News reported, while she waited for the detective to come back.

She then asked if she could put on some makeup before police photos were to be taken.

The jury was able to watch the video.

She's on her head for almost 30 seconds while she waits for the detective. While waiting, she also snoops through the trash and sings the song "Here With Me" by pop star Dido.

When the detective returns and tells her that she's about to be arrested, Arias asks whether she can have her purse to do a little primping before her now-infamous smiling mug shot was taken.

"This is a really trivial question, and it's going to reveal how shallow I am, but before they book me can I clean myself up a little bit?" Arias is heard saying on the footage.
