Fran Warren Dies: “A Sunday Kind Of Love” Big Band Singer Died Of Natural Causes At 87 On Her Birthday

Fran Warren dies on March 4 of natural causes at age 87 in her home in Brookfield, Connecticut.

Fran Warren sang the iconic big band era hit "A Sunday Kind of Love" in 1947.

Alan Eichler, Fran Warren's spokesman, announced on Tuesday that the singer-actress had died.

Warren's career lasted for more than 50 years.

Warren sang as a solo artist with RCA Victor before she recorded hit duets "I Said My Pajamas (and Put On My Prayers)" with Tony Martin and "Dearie and "It's Anybody's Heart" with Lisa Kirk.

She also signed to MGM Records, and topped the charts with "It's Anybody's Heart."

Warren often sang with big bands, including the Claude Thornhill Orchestra. It was with this band that Warren recorded the hit that catapulted her to fame, "A Sunday Kind Of Love."

Fran Warren starred in the film Abbott and Costello Meet Captain Kidd, and she often appeared on talk shows with Johnny Carson, Merv Griffin and Steve Allen, according to the Associated Press.

Fran Warren was born Frances Wolf in the Bronx, NY on March 4, 1926.

She is survived by two daughters, a son-in-law and two nieces.
