Jim Brown Reconciles With Cleveland Browns, Rejoins Organization He Boycotted

Jim Brown reconciles with the Cleveland Browns football team and will now have an official role with the team.

Brown was one of the greatest running backs, honored as the leading rusher in the NFL Pro Football Hall of Fame, until Emmitt Smith broke the record with the Dallas Cowboys.

Brown, 77, boycotted the Cleveland Browns as he was in odds with former team president Mike Holmgren, who removed Brown from his post as an adviser to previous owner Randy Lerner.

The new owner Jimmy Haslam shared about finalizing the plans to hire Brown, who became a star playing for the team.

"I think he feels good about it, and I think we feel good about it, and rightfully so. I've really enjoyed getting to know him, not just as a great football player but as a man."

Brown was considered as a consultant and liaison between team and its players last time he was with the Browns. Haslam stated Brown's official role will become clear in the next to three weeks.

"Jim Brown and I have spent a lot of time together. We spent about an hour together last night, and I think we've established a really good relationship, and I think sometime over the next two or three weeks we'll formalize that relationship and Jim will play the appropriate role with the Cleveland Browns," Haslam said in Phoenix, reported ESPN.

"It's a big deal and that's why I want to do it right. In the next couple of weeks we'll announce something," he said.
