Jennifer Capriati Charged With Stalking, Alleged Assault of Ex Ivan Brannan in Gym, 'Over Exaggeration, Truth Will Prevail'

Former tennis star Jennifer Capriati has been charged for allegedly assaulting her ex-boyfriend Ivan Brannan on Valentine's Day while he was working out at the gym.

Palm Beach County court records show Capriati charged with first count of assault because she "actually and intentionally touch or strike Ivan Dwight Brannan Jr. against the wil of Ivan Dwight Brannan Jr. [or] did intentionally cause harm to Ivan Dwight Brannan Jr."

The second charge of stalking is because she "willfully, maliciously and repeatedly follow, harass or cyberstalk Ivan Dwight Brannan Jr."

Florida cops sought an arrest warrant two weeks ago, on charges of stalking and battery charges. Capriati is to appear before a judge April 17. She will not be arrested unless she fails to show up in court.

North Palm police say Ivan Brannan was walking out when 36-year-old approached and yelled at him. He walked away entering the men's locker room at the Oxygen Health & Fitness Gym however Capriati blocked him and punched him in the chest.

"The current faces being circulated by Brannan are an over exaggeration and the police report is one-sided in Brannan's favor since they failed to get Capriati's side of the story," Capriati's rep said.

"We will make sure that Capriati's side of the story is fully conveyed and when the truth comes out she will be vindicated from these charges."

Capriati tweeted, "I pushed a man that was verbally assaulting me away from me. This man has been tormenting and abusing me for so long. The truth will prevail," according to the New York Post.
