Seth Rogen Confirmed To Direct, Produce, Star In Assassination Plot Comedy ‘The Interview’ For Columbia Pictures

Seth Rogen will star in, direct and produce "The Interview" with Columbia Pictures.

Although Seth Rogen's directorial debut "This Is The End" hasn't hit theaters yet, Columbia Pictures is so impressed and excited with the results that it already wants Rogen to work on the film "The Interview."

The Hollywood Reporter stated that Dan Sterling of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, in addition to Rogen and Evan Goldberg, wrote the screenplay for "The Interview."

Rogan will direct and produce the film with his collaborator Evan Goldberg. The pair directed the soon-to-be-released apocalyptic comedy "This Is The End."

"The Interview's" plot is certainly unique. Rogen's newest film will focus on a talk show host and his producer who become involved in a plot to assassinate the North Korean prime minister.

James Franco, who worked with Rogen in comedy "Pineapple Express," is allegedly being considered for a lead role in "The Interview." Rogen will likely play the role of Franco's producer.

Seth Rogen most recently appeared in theaters opposite Barbra Streisand in "The Guilt Trip," which was also produced by Evan Goldberg.

"This Is The End" will be released on June 14, 2013, and features cameos from Jonah Hill, Danny McBride, Emma Watson, Michael Cera, Jason Segel, Paul Rudd and Rihanna, according to Belfast Telegraph.

Rogen's will next shoot his role in Nicholas Stoller's "Townies", a comedy that also stars Zac Efron.
