"Twilight' Star Ashley Greene's Apartment On Fire, Killing One Of Her Dogs

Ashley Greene's West Hollywood apartment went on fire Friday. One of her dogs was found dead.

It was reported first that the dog was saved during the fire in apartment building Friday. TMZ reported that there was a second dog and that dog did not survive the fire.

A firefighter told TMZ that the "Twilight" star, her boyfriend and her brother were out last night were sleeping when the fire broke out on the living room sofa.  They reportedly "ran out of the apartment, and then realized the dogs were still there," the firefighter said.  "The two men tried to get back in to rescue them but couldn't.  We're told Ashley wanted to keep the dog that died, so firefighters wrapped it in a sheet and gave it either to Ashley or one of the 2 guys."

Along with the firefighter, a neighbor of Greene's said the dog was found dead under the bed. The other dog was taken by Animal Control.

Several other residents tried to tried to stop the flames with fire extinguishers, but to no avail.

Originally from Jacksonville, Fla., Greene played Alice Cullen in the hit "Twilight" series. Her character can see into the future and help Bella, played by Kristen Stewart. The pair becomes good friends at one point in the movie.

Appearing nude in a body painted bikini, Greene posed for SoBe advertisements that ran in the 2010 issue of the annual Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition.

At least 10 fire trucks swarmed to the 7-story building Friday, TMZ reported.  They extinguished the blaze. TMZ also reported that the full extent of the damage is unclear.

Residents in the building told TMZ that Greene's brother and assistant had been going in and out of the condo all morning.
