"NCIS" star Pauley Perrette's ex-husband has been charged with violating the restraining order Pauley Perrette filed against him.

Perrette's ex-husband, Francis "Coyote" Shivers, now faces up to a year and a half behind bars, according to TMZ.

Law enforcement sources told TMZ that Shivers has been charged with one count of violating a court order, and one count of probation violation. He could face 18 months in jail if convicted.

Shivers was put on probation after being convicted of sending Pauley Perrette's lawyer harassing emails.

Initially, Perrette filed the restraining order because she feared for her safety. According to Perrette's lawyer, Shivers sent his ex-wife frightening e-mails and intercepted her private e-mails.

The judge agreed to issue the restraining order based on a "history of emotional abuse." It has been renewed several times.

Authorities charged Shivers with violating the restraining order after he appeared at a Hollywood sushi restaurant last year where Pauley and her fiancé were eating dinner. After Shivers made his appearance, an argument broke out.

Shivers claimed it was a coincidence, but prosecutors felt differently and charged Perrette's ex-husband.

Shivers is a musician who first appeared in Empire Records in 1995. Perrette and Shivers divorced in 2006.

Perrette plays a Goth forensic scientist on the most popular show on TV, "NCIS". She has played Abby Sciuto on the CBS series since its debut in 2003.
