Jessica Simpson's daughter Maxwell was the center of attention at an event promoting the Jessica Simpson Girl's Collection in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Jessica, 32 and sister Ashlee, 28 were both upstaged by Simpson's precocious 10-month-old daughter.

Although Jessica waited until the end of the event to introduce her daughter, placing the child on a table between her and Ashlee, Maxwell provided a spark that charmed the room of photographers and fashionistas, according to the Daily Mail.

Wearing a floral blouse, beige trousers and mini trainers Simpson's daughter waved and blew air bubbles to the crowd.

Jessica, who wore a glamorous maxi-length red dress, is currently pregnant with her second child with fiancé Eric Johnson. Although the couple has yet to announce a due date, they have hinted that the baby will be born this summer.

Back in January Simpson told Jay Leno on "The Tonight Show" that she had not planned to give daughter Maxwell a brother or sister.

"Was this part of the plan to have another child so quickly?" Jay asked Jessica.

"Oh no," Simpson replied. "Apparently it was part of God's plan for my life."

Jessica told Ellen DeGeneres recently that she has adopted a healthier nutrition plan for her second pregnancy.

"The first pregnancy, I like, let loose and I kind of ate everything that I wanted to eat and I just really enjoyed it," the Weight Watchers spokeswoman said. "This time around I think because I was doing Weight Watchers and I felt super healthy. I'm not really craving as much and I know how hard it is to get off, so I'm trying to make healthier, wiser decisions."
