Paul Anka: Jay-Z 'Won't Answer My Calls'

TMZ caught up with Paul Anka on the street for an interview about his 'Duets' album. When asked about rappers he would possibly collaborate with, Anka had a few choice words to say about Jay-Z.

In and interview with TMZ.com outside a restaurant in LA, legendary singer Paul Anka was asked about "improbable duets." He spoke highly about working with Michael Jackson, Leon Russell, and Dolly Parton.

But when the interviewer asked Anka about if he had ever thought about doing a duet with a rapper, he immediately shot down the idea. He did, however, say the idea had crossed his mind before.

Anka then went on to discuss a rather frustrating interaction (or non-interaction) with Jay-Z.

It seems he had wanted to do a mash-up with Jay-Z rapping interlaced with a Michael Jackson track, but when Anka called the rapper up, he was ignored.

It seems Jay-Z has a hard time answering or returned phone calls, and Anka is not pleased! He said he was blown off by Jay-Z who acted "inappropriately" toward him.

However disrespected he may feel, Paul Anka still had a smile on his face about the whole situation. He even shouted out to Beyonce, saying how much he admires her, especially compared to her husband.

It is pretty safe to say that Paul Anka is not planning on reaching out to Jay-Z again anytime soon, but many fans are extremely excited about his upcoming album of duets nonetheless.
