Golfers found 2 bodies after hearing gunshots off the distance of a course in Tallahassee on Tuesday.

The golfers enjoying a round at Hilaman Golf Course Tuesday heard two gun shots at about 5 p.m. then came across the bodies of two female victims, said Leon County Sheriff's Office spokesman Lt. James McQuaig.

"They made the discovery," McQuaig said. "They called 911 and they waited for us to get there."

The names of the victims were not released, who were found dead in a grassy area between the golf course and an adjacent apartment complex. The golfers didn't see anyone fleeing the area after hearing the gunshots. McQuaig said he didn't know of the victim's ages.

The golf course is mostly lined with apartment complexes in the capital city of Florida. The autopsy of the victims is scheduled for Wednesday at the area coroner's office.
